I am a Behavioural Scientist, currently with Amazon Pharmacy. Previously I was a Research Scientist at Oxford University (UK), and at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (Germany). I obtained my PhD in Sociology from the University of South Carolina (with Distinction) in 2018.
I am passionate about measuring, and understanding the roots of social injustices at the population level, and love doing so together with brilliant and kind co-authors. Broadly, my research explores linkages between family processes, social inequalities, and population health and has been published in journals such as Journal of Marriage and Family, Social Psychology Quarterly, Demography, Journal of Family Issues, American Sociological Review. In recent projects, I explore inequalities in time-use and well-being, by gender and social-class, in East Asian and Western societies. My work has been recognized with several honors including a Best Paper Award by IPUMS, Best Paper by a Junior Researcher in Honor of Jan M. Hoem by the MPIDR, Teaching Award by the Sociology Department at the University of South Carolina. In my free time I enjoy long walks outside, catching up with friends and family, learning about the world (past and present), gardening, and traveling (not always far from home). |
